Garvary Wind Farm
Welcome to the community consultation website for the Garvary Wind Farm.
An application for consent under Section 36 of the Electricity Act (1989) was submitted to the Scottish Government Energy Consents Unit in April 2021.
The proposed development is located on the Garvary and Achinduich Estates, to the east of the A836, around 4.5 km from Lairg (to the north) and 5.5 km from Bonar Bridge (to the south). Much of the site is upland moorland, mainly used for sheep grazing with some occasional game shooting. The development site is free from designations and electrical infrastructure is an existing feature of the site and its surroundings, carrying high voltage power lines from both Shin power station and Loch Buidhe substation, passing through the western and southern parts of the site respectively.
Information and updates on the progress of the proposed development is available on this website.
